"Your journey starts here โ say goodbye to discomfort. I'm here to help."
I have been working in Lymphoedema as a Clinical Nurse Specialist for the last 15 years, the last 8 of which I was the clinical lead of the NHS Lymphoedema service in Norwich. I currently work part-time for Starthrowers Cancer Charity as a Lymphoedema nurse, and I am a qualified supplemental community prescriber.
I see clients at my practice in Norwich and offer home visits for those who find travelling difficult โ because the people who need this care most are sometimes the least able to come to me.

AvivaA gentle, rhythmic massage that stimulates the lymphatic system and encourages your body to drain fluid naturally. I use the Casley Smith method to ease swelling and that heavy, uncomfortable feeling.
I treat all types of lymphoedema and lipoedema, including those recovering from surgery or undergoing cancer treatment.
Fluid retention and swelling can come from many causes. I'll help you understand what's driving it and put a practical, long-term plan in place โ not just a short-term fix.
After surgery, injury or radiotherapy, scar tissue can cause tightness, pain and restricted movement. Using techniques from Restore Therapies UK, I work gradually and gently to soften the tissue and restore how you move.
The right compression garment is essential for managing lymphoedema day to day. As a clinical nurse specialist in Lymphoedema, I can measure, recommend and fit exactly what you need.
These are the specialist tools and techniques I use alongside hands-on therapy to get the best results for you.
The Photizo is a handheld low-level laser (LLLT) device that uses red and near-infrared light to stimulate the body's natural healing response. I use it for fibrosis, tethered scar tissue and areas where the tissue has hardened after surgery or radiotherapy. It's completely painless โ most clients describe a gentle warmth โ and it works beautifully alongside manual therapy to soften and release stubborn tissue.
Kinesio tape is a lightweight, elastic therapeutic tape that I apply in specific patterns to support lymphatic drainage between sessions. It gently lifts the skin, creating more space in the superficial lymphatics and encouraging fluid to move toward healthy drainage pathways. It's especially useful for areas where traditional compression garments are difficult to fit, such as the trunk, face or around scars. It's skin-friendly, waterproof and usually worn for several days at a time.
Manual Lymphatic Drainage using the Casley Smith method is the cornerstone of everything I do. This internationally recognised technique uses very gentle, rhythmic skin movements โ much lighter than a regular massage โ to stimulate the lymphatic system and guide fluid away from congested areas. I'm trained in the Casley Smith method, which has a strong evidence base for lymphoedema, lipoedema and post-surgical swelling. I also teach clients a simplified self-drainage sequence so you can maintain progress between appointments.
Compression garments are an essential part of long-term lymphoedema management โ they maintain the reduction in swelling achieved through MLD and prevent fluid from re-accumulating. I measure, recommend and fit compression sleeves, gloves, stockings and other garments, and I work with reputable suppliers including Nordesthetics to ensure the right class, fit and style for you. Wearing the right garment makes a significant difference to daily comfort and long-term outcomes.
My practice is based at my home in Norwich, NR7 9UD โ a calm, private treatment room.
Lymphatic massage is very gentle and painless โ like you would stroke a dog. The aim is to move fluid from swollen areas using the superficial lymphatics within the skin, towards the lymph nodes situated throughout the body. Quite often after surgery or radiotherapy, scars and skin changes make it hard for fluid to drain normally, so we guide it around those areas instead.
I am a qualified scar therapist, MLD specialist, and state registered nurse. Sessions usually take around one hour. If you would like me to teach a relative or loved one how to massage you, I am happy to do this.
I may use kinesiotape, facial cupping, fascial stretches, or laser to help with drainage of particularly firm tissues โ and I can teach you to do these at home too.
I manage all types of lymphoedema: post cosmetic surgery, post cancer treatment, paediatric or primary lymphoedema, and venous swelling secondary to blood clots. I also treat cording, scars, radiotherapy skin changes, and lipoedema. I can measure for compression hosiery and order it for you โ though if you are having cosmetic surgery, your clinic should do this for you. If you have cancer-related lymphoedema and have not already been seen by the NHS lymphoedema service, I can refer you into them for further hosiery provision and advice.
Lymph fluid is quite sticky because it contains large white blood cells and proteins, including cytokines โ your chemical pain messengers. This is why swelling is usually tender or painful, and why fluid weighs so much. After your massage you will usually feel less tenderness, and swollen limbs will feel noticeably lighter. This is especially true for lipoedema.
Please expect to disrobe โ loose fitting clothing helps, and especially loose boxers or high-leg underwear, as there are roughly 250 lymph nodes in your abdomen and around your bikini line. I have soft fleecy blankets to preserve your modesty, and an electric couch so your position can be adjusted if you have stitches or painful areas.
I prefer to use corn starch or medicated talcum powder rather than oils to reduce friction during the massage. If you have particularly sensitive skin, please feel free to bring your own products.
I do not wear surgical gloves when massaging, as it is important to feel the changes in your tissues. If you are uncomfortable with skin-on-skin contact, please let me know โ I do have gloves available.
I have a downstairs toilet โ you may well need it after your massage! It is quite normal to pass more urine than usual in the 24 hours following treatment. Please stay well hydrated despite this, as your skin works like a sponge โ a dry sponge is far less efficient at maintaining fluid balance and drainage than a well-hydrated one.
When you complete your health questionnaire, please let me know what your expectations of the massage are โ I love a happy client and would hate for you to be disappointed.
There's no accessible driveway, so please park on the road. I'm one house in from the corner, opposite the flats โ look for the house with the hanging baskets! Head down the path at the side of the flats to reach me.
There is one step up into the house, but the treatment room is on the ground floor.
I offer home visits for those who find travelling difficult โ because the people who need this care most are sometimes the least able to come to me. All the same care and equipment comes to you. A travel charge based on the return journey time is calculated at booking and paid upfront; the ยฃ75 session fee is paid on the day.
